How to Find CEX/DEX Altcoins BEFORE They Break Out
It sounds like a bit of a sales pitch, but it's actually a solution to a problem you might not have spent much time thinking about.
How do you find altcoins to trade on your centralized exchange (CEX)?
For most this is Binance, CoinBase, FTX, or even the Turkish favorite BitCi. Catching these movers is usually impossible before they are up 15–30%. And even worse if you are late and you are entering at the highs.
A lot of screeners are really good at spotting strength but they are not tracking trends, they simply track volatility or a single indicator like the MACD.
It’s too late when they are the top gainers. Don’t bother with these signals.
CoinRotator does things a bit differently. It tracks the relative strength between complementary markets.
In other words, when you see an UPtrend on Coinrotator it’s telling you that your altcoin is strong against BTC, ETH and USD. It’s not tracking how much it's up, it's simply telling you this coin’s momentum is stronger than the most important markets in crypto.
This approach allows slow-moving trends to build up before the crowd is onto the coin.

How to Screen for New Uptrends
Depending on your time horizon you can either check for emerging weekly or daily trends.
These are the steps when you are screening on CoinRotator.
- Determine if you want to see faster or slower trends (it depends on your style of trading). Coinrotator is faster while Classic uses the slower more common settings of the Supertrend.
2. Decide the marketcap of the coins you want to track. Note: if you want to see all of them just leave this unchanged.
3. Determine the freshness of the trend. If you are a momentum trader choosing signal streak 1–5 would suit you best. If you are looking to buy support and sell resistance, select 5–10. If you are looking for reversals, anything above 10–20 is a good place to start. Again, if you want to see all the coins for your exchange, leave this unchanged.
4. Start typing your exchange and the modal will auto-suggest for you. Note: you can choose multiple exchanges to expand your results.
5. If you are looking to short a specific altcoin, you’ll want to find which exchange offers derivatives trading. CoinRotator now offers this easy screening option.
Check that the screener is showing what you’re interested in, the tags are listed on the main page once the modal closes.

Here are some of the setups that I like to take on daily or weekly signals. It’s best to find your own setup but this is a good place to start.
